Melanie Buchko, Certified Movement Speciaist

Mel Buchko completed her Group and Aquatic Fitness Certification through Saskatchewan Parks and Recreation Association in 2011 and 2012 respectively.  She has been instructing movement and adding different movement modalities to her repertoire ever since. Mel received her Indoor Cycling Certification through Cycle Fusion in 2014 and followed her passion of pilates becoming a fully certified Balance Body Comprehensive Pilates Instructor in 2018.  She also received Balance Body Bodhi Suspension System Certification in 2018. Currently Mel teaches at Lead and for two Saskatoon Community Associations.

 

Movement has always been a part of Mel’s life.  Having grown up with a mother who was a fitness instructor and a father who played/coached soccer, she developed early on the love of moving. Mel grew up playing soccer, starting on

community teams and eventually playing at an elite level in her teens.  She had the opportunity to represent her high school in soccer, basketball and rugby and went on to play Varsity Rugby at Acadia University.  She has also been involved in a number of other sports, including racquetball, flag football and ultimate frisbee.

 

She is now the number 1 fan to her children's’ sports teams. You will find her enjoying sunflower seeds at the ball diamonds, coaching soccer or helping out at hockey practice even though her skating is a work in progress.  She is currently working towards becoming a Level 1 Essentrics Instructor and learning how to skate backwards.  Mel is looking forward to working with your athletes weekly as part of Chanel Performance!

Jana Danielson, MBA

Jana is a wife, mom to 3 teenage boys, a self proclaimed wellness champion and the owner of Lead located in the Sutherland industrial area of Saskatoon.  Lead is Saskatoon’s premiere Integrated Health and Wellness facility. Home to over 80 weekly Pilates-based fitness classes that make you sweat, strong, stretch and move, Lead has your body covered whether you are new to movement and exercise or are looking to take your fitness to the next level.  Their clinic offers Chiropractic, Naturopathic Medicine, Massage Therapy, Physiotherapy, Clinical Counselling, Reflexology + BodyTalk and Mental Health Services.  Their goal is to educate, inspire and move the clients and patients that walk through their doors everyday to become better versions of themselves.  They become your personal wellness team and with online booking, direct billing and tons of free parking they help to make your life more efficient.

 

Over the past 12 years Jana has developed movement/training for athletes ranging from the community to collegiate level of competition.  She is excited to be working along side Chantel and Mel to bring your athletes a unique Pilates-based movement experience which will teach them injury prevention strategies, core strength, balance, coordination, healthy joint range of motion and flexibility.

 

Jana’s passion for integrating movement and therapies has expanded from her bricks and mortar studio and clinic to an newly launched online wellness platform called Metta District.
